Many people are not aware that Facebook stores your searches on their servers, in addition to on your own computer. So clearing your browser history will not remove this information.
This is what you need to do to clear or delete Facebook searches:-
- Log into Facebook
- Click on your name (top-left) to visit your profile page.
- Click on the Activity Log button (right of screen at bottom of your banner photo).
- Click Search in the left-hand menu.
- Click Clear Searches (top-right).
Warning: Deleting your Facebook search history will not remove all traces of your browsing history. Files will still exist that are indicative of the websites you have visited. Click here to learn what else you need to delete. This is still true even if you have been using a ‘private browsing’ mode.
